Tucked inside our restored barn near Cremona, just 55 minutes from Calgary, the Grand Ballroom is the heart of every wedding we host. It’s romantic before you’ve even added a single flower – and it only gets better from there.

Few venues can give you this: two sweeping staircases descending from the mezzanine into the Grand Ballroom, framed in greenery and string lights. However you choose to make your entrance — walking down together as newlyweds, or letting the room catch its breath as you appear at the top of the stairs — it turns that first moment into a scene straight out of a fairytale.
Guests below, chandeliers above, and a room full of people looking up to watch you arrive. It’s one of the most requested photo moments we offer, and one of the reasons couples fall in love with this room before the reception even begins.
The Space Itself

At 6,000 square feet, the Grand Ballroom gives your celebration room to breathe — and room to dance. Underneath the crystal chandeliers, gold ceremony chairs line the aisle by day and disappear for dinner and dancing by night, while a hand-crafted stone fireplace anchors the room with warmth.
One detail couples are always relieved to hear: the entire ballroom is fully air-conditioned. Alberta summers can surprise you, and a packed dance floor generates its own heat — but your reception will stay comfortable from cocktail hour through the last song.

Some of the most photographed corners of The Heritage Centre aren’t the ballroom floor at all – they’re the details tucked around it. Multiple sparkle walls, curtains of warm string lights, glow behind the head table, the cake table, and the dance floor, giving every photo a soft, romantic shimmer no matter where your photographer is standing.
Nearby, our reclaimed whiskey barrel tables anchor the cake and dessert display with a touch of old-world charm – a favorite backdrop for couples who want their details table to feel just as intentional as their ceremony space.
The Mezzanine

Above the ballroom floor, our mezzanine overlook gives you — and your photographer — a vantage point most venues simply don’t have. Lean over the railing for a sweeping shot of the whole room below, or let your littlest guests claim it as their own dance floor while the chandeliers glow behind them. It’s where some of our favorite photos happen: quiet portraits, candid hugs, and the wide shot of your guests mid-dance that you’ll want printed and framed.
A Stage for Every Tradition

Part of what makes this room special is what it’s been able to hold. The same chandelier-lit floor that carries a couple’s first dance has also carried a Ukrainian folk troupe mid-leap, a ballroom exhibition pair in mid-spin, and a full sangeet performance with the whole wedding party dancing in unison. Whatever traditions your celebration calls for, the Grand Ballroom’s open floor and acoustics are built to hold the moment – and the crowd!

The best dance floors don’t stay reserved for the wedding party for long. By the second hour, aunts are teaching nieces the steps, groomsmen have shed their jackets, and grandparents are proving they’ve still got it. Here’s the thing about giving people 6,000 square feet and a great playlist: they use it. We’ve watched wedding parties turn the dance floor into a full cardio session, watched a groom get ambushed with hockey sticks on his way to the reception, watched masquerade masks come out at midnight, and watched more than one bouquet toss turn into an all-out sprint. The Grand Ballroom was built for exactly that kind of night – elegant enough for your first dance, spacious enough for your whole guest list to lose themselves in the music by the end of it.
